About the Project

Anantmool is committed to improving the lives of children facing adversity, focusing on their well-being and development. In partnership with the Azim Premji Foundation, we have launched the Rural Crèche Initiative, a transformative program designed to enhance the nutritional status and developmental milestones of children aged 7 months to 3 years.

This initiative provides comprehensive support through supplementary feeding, early childhood development programs, and ensuring access to essential entitlements critical for children’s growth. By prioritizing early intervention, we aim to address challenges such as growth faltering, underweight, and wasting in young children, with consistent follow-up to ensure their sustained well-being. Through this holistic approach, we strive to create nurturing environments where every child can thrive and reach their full potential, laying the foundation for a healthier and brighter future.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master in any stream from a recognized university. But preference will be given who have done graduation in the related to Health, Nutrition and Early Childhood Education.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in community-based programs, program management and coordination with a team of 6.
  • A strong commitment to serving the community.
  • Must own a scooty/bike for travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Monitoring and Supervision:

  • Conduct monthly visits to monitor crèches and provide guidance to Crèche Supervisors and Caregivers.
  • Identify and track issues such as ill or wasted children and operational challenges in crèches.
  • Investigate the causes of growth faltering in children and identify effective interventions.
  • Support Crèche Supervisors in collecting household and anthropometric data.
  • Check all the MIS to impliment interventions as per the need within strict timeline.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality checks of anthropometric measurements using monitoring formats.
  • Participate in the quarterly calibration of anthropometric tools.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols in all crèches.
  • Ensure food quality provided at all centres.

Training and Capacity Building:

  • Conduct training needs assessments and support the capacity building of Crèche Caregivers.
  • Provide regular follow-ups to ensure effective implementation of training.

Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Collaborate with block/district functionaries, PRI members, and frontline workers to ensure program alignment.
  • Facilitate access to services like Take-Home Ration (THR), VHSND, and immunization.

Logistics and Reporting:

  • Approve ration requisitions, ensuring timely verification and availability of supplies.
  • Conduct monthly review meetings with Crèche Supervisors, caregivers and team.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation as per project requirements on weekly and monthly basis.

  • Knowledge of community health and nutrition interventions.
  • Ability to build partnerships with local stakeholders and motivate teams.
  • Ability to design a session plan for monthly review and training of caregivers
  • Ability to design activities for kids to engage in centre
